A photograph of a Campbell's Soup Can

Calliope, v. 15, no. 2

By Calliope Magazine. Kalamazoo, Michigan : Western Michigan College, Spring, 1967 .

This is an Artists’ book designed by Kalamazoo Western Michigan College students Tilt Telmet and Carole Lanham. Calliope was a student publication produced in cooperation with the English and Art Departments at Western Michigan University from 1954-1967. Its purpose was to promote good student writing. This issue was distributed as a soup can, using the familiar Campbell's Soup can image. Andy Warhol had created art from Campbell's Soup cans in 1962. The printed issue itself was rolled up inside the can, with graphic designs, poems, and a melodrama in one act by 13 different authors.
