Charmingly illustrated children's storybook in verse about radishes. The Cooper-Hewitt has a large collection of 19th century illustrated children's books in many languages. Erika von Kager (Zürich 1890-1975 Italy) was a book illustrator, artist, designed posters and greeting cards.
An extremely brittle stapled binding. Many of the pages are detached and the staples are rusty. Conservators will disbind the pages and clean any soiled areas with eraser crumbs. Spray deacidify the backs of the pages (without color illustrations) and encapsulate and post bind the pages.
