Forrest provides a comprehensive historical overview of Southwest missions and pueblos during both the Franciscan and Jesuit periods, with photographs of them before modern changes were made. The book also includes ethnographic and cultural information on Hopi, Zuni, and other southwestern Indian tribes, especially the Snake and Flute dance ceremonies.
