Book Club: The Hate U Give

Join the Smithsonian Libraries for Book Club! On July 21, we will be discussing Angie Thomas' award-winning novel The Hate U Give at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Participants will also be treated to rare artifacts and books to shed light on some of the themes within the book. A light brunch will be served.

More about the program: The Smithsonian Libraries Book Club takes a unique approach to the classic format. This program is geared toward and led by high school students.  At Book Club, teens from all over the DC area come together to discuss themes and ideas found within popular young adult literature, and then they take a deeper dive into the book by exploring related materials from the Smithsonian Libraries’ collections.  Learn about our other Book Club events here.
